Real Time Shared Development with Eclipse

I love linux, but every time I try to fully make the move from Windows, there is always something that keeps me coming back. Usually it is PHP development IDE’s. Since the majority of my time is spent programming in PHP, my software of choice is Dreamweaver. I have dual booted and used wine, but they both seem to have problems. Wine has never seemed to work with Dreamweaver and Photoshop. I can’t stand Gimp, and never really found a good IDE. I recently found a very exciting programming video about real time development with Eclipse. This might just make me jump back on it.
Eclipse has been the closest to my liking, but it just wasn’t as polished and fast as Dreamweaver. I recently noticed that Eclipse has a new version so I’m trying it again on my XP laptop. I started to use Eclipse again, because I wanted to do some Android programming for location based service application on mobile devices. Eclipse is the #1 choice when programming for the android and has a good ADT plugin and a lot of examples and tutorials based on the ADT eclipse IDE.
Doing a little exploring on the Eclipse website I ran across this video of Real Time Development. The video shows 2 programmers editing the same file. Basically creating the functions together. It is pretty cool. Especially for someone like me that works with a developer in Kathmandu. Normally we discuss things via IM, and then edit accordingly. We never edit the same files (because we can’t) so we are always working on two different sections of applications at the same time.

I remember when I just started to learn how to program. Imagine if I could have learned with someone that was editing the files with me in real time.
